URBAN FOX THEATRE FUNDRAISER - FEAST & FAMINE

Join Urban Fox Theatre for an evening of script in hand performances, spoken word, music, a raffle and mince pies to raise money for local foodbanks.

This year we are throwing a Christmas fundraiser party to raise money (and food) for local foodbanks and we'd love for you join us! We have some exciting playwrights to announce soon, as well as some spoken word and music acts (and don't forget the raffle!).  All proceeds will go to local food banks.

We have challenged our writers to think about where we are now, coming to the end of a difficult year.  Let's look to our community and what we can do to support.  Hunger is now a common reality for so many in our cities and we never know when we ourselves may need to ask for help. So, while we can, let's help.

Monday 12th December - Edinburgh
St Augustine United Church, 7.30pm (Doors open at 7pm)
feastfamineedinburgh.brownpapertickets.com

Tuesday 13th December - Glasgow
The Pearce Institute, 7.30pm (Doors open at 7pm)
feastfamineglasgow.brownpapertickets.com

Tickets will include a homemade mince pie and warm Christmas drink!

And the first 30 tickets bought through Brown Paper Tickets will receive a special Christmas gift!

HEARTLANDS

By Dave Fargnoli

Optimism’s going to break your heart

When things fall apart, you go back home.  Swept up in a public scandal, jaded humanitarian Charlie rehashes the past and hashtags his way to the moral high ground.  Dark, daft, and subversive, Heartlands asks if optimism always has to break your heart.

Heartlands is Urban Fox Theatre’s third Fringe production, following successful runs with Globophobia in 2013 and Safeword in 2014.  Safeword was later presented as part of the Traverse Theatre’s Hothouse in October 2014.  Heartlands was first performed at the Edinburgh Fringe in 2015.

Heartlands features Joe Johnson and Clare Ross
With original music by Rebecca Herd

Amy Gilmartin - Director
Jo Rush - Associate Director
Joseph Brown - Music Director
Ruth Burgon - Stage Manager/Costume Designer

SAFEWORD (FRINGE 2014)

By Dave Fargnoli

Everybody lives a double life

VENUE:  Sweet Grassmarket (Venue 18)
DATE:  19th - 24th August 2014
TIME:  5.15pm (Duration 60 minutes)

Everybody lives a double life.  For some it's a game.  For anxious artist Isobel, it's self-preservation.  A dark, daft, fairytale of trust, truth, lust and love, Safeword is a true story, only every word is a lie.

Urban Fox Theatre is an Edinburgh based theatre company, specialising in new writing and collaboration.  They are returning to the Fringe with their second production, following success last year with Globophobia.

GLOBOPHOBIA (FRINGE 2013)

By Dave Fargnoli and Lindsay Miller

So, what're you afraid of?

VENUE:  Sweet Grassmarket (Venue 18)
DATES:  1st - 25th August 2013
TIME:  8.20pm (70 minutes)

Some fears are rational.
Some are buried deep since childhood.
Some are downright strange.

Seven characters share stories of anxiety, coincidence and missed connections.  Dark, daft and sometimes devastation, Globophobia explores common and uncommon fears, and wonders what the hell we're meant to do about them anyway.

In a collaborative project featuring a large ensemble cast and stories by two emerging Scottish playwrights, Urban Fox Theatre pack big ideas into an intimate, inventive performance.  Take an offbeat look at the dark and light of love, life and growing up, optimism, pessimism and bursting balloons.
